Flavour of the Month - November

Guess what? It's Flavour of the Month time again... Allow me to introduce you to the latest member of our select cupcake gang - Red Velvet! It's something of a well-worn classic in the cupcake world so we've spent a very long time working on our Red Velvet flavour to ensure it's the best around. A moist, slightly tart chocolate-y vanilla-y sponge topped with a rich, smooth cream cheese frosting, these bad boys are personally responsible for a noticeable rise in the average weight of the C&D kitchen crew. All in the name of research of course - and we think it's been worth it!


Our Red Velvet cupcakes will be available to order in the usual way throughout November and of course you can also buy them direct from our Kings Road and Covent Garden market stalls.

Just wanted to drop a line to say thanks for doing the Spiderman/Batman/Watchmen cupcakes for my 21st! Wow, they were amazing! You've done cakes for my 18th, 19th and parents wedding and these cakes for my 21st were by far the best! Everyone loved them and were so jealous when they found out Id actually hidden the special ones with the comic logos on them so they couldnt eat them! Expect an order for my boyfriends birthday in January, we're both a little geeky and he loved them! How do you fancy trying to do some Thundercats or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cakes???

Halloween cupcakes!

Hi all. Just a very quick post to say that this year's Halloween cupcakes are now live (/undead) on the main site! You'll find all the details over there, along with a natty online order form to let you get your orders in.

This year the cupcakes are spookier than ever - I've stepped my sprinkle game up even more and this year there'll be bats, cats, tombstones, pumpkins, bones, ghosts and so much more. Plus a bit of special C&D piping in every box for good measure! Our Halloween cupcakes will be available by the dozen in big and mini sizes, or in our great new Munchboxes (2 big & 9 mini cupcakes), and all at terrifyingly good prices too! You can order for delivery or collection on the 30th/31st October and all the boxes will contain an awesome mix of flavours, including Flavour of the Month, vanilla, chocolate and lemon.

Go get 'em - as usual all orders are first-come first-served. Mwah-ha-ha-er, ahem.

Flavour of the Month - October!

Man - I've been so busy organising my Halloween sprinkles I completely forgot to put up details of this month's Flavour of the Month! Anyway (fanfare please...) October is going to be all about ChocolateOrange flavour! That's right - the zesty tang of sweet organic Naval oranges mixed with a rich, dark chocolate sponge. It's a winning combination!

You can find more details over on the main site, but suffice to say these fruity fellas will be a regular fixture at every C&D stall during October, and of course you can also order them in the usual way. They'll also be making an appearance as part of our very special Halloween boxes - more details on those soon...

Here's some cupcakes we did for the nice chaps from Coldplay, who were having a little party after their Wembley Arena tour finale. A kind of Baroque/French Revolution meets Adam Ant affair - hence the red, white and blue. Lovely.

Must.Eat.Cupcakes!

Here's some cupcakes we did for the guys over at Mediatonic, creators of the thoroughly ace "picnic defence simulator" Must.Eat.Birds.. Cupcakes, catapults, Battenburg, parachuting birds, picnicing Nomsters...A game that has single-handedly prompted a 25% drop in productivity in the C&D kitchen.

Old York Road Street Party on Saturday!

The C&D Chelsea stall will be open as usual of course on Duke of York Square this Saturday, but those of you living South of the river might fancy popping along to the Old York Road street party, which will be taking place on Old York Road from 12pm. It's just by our new kitchens so as well as loads of other family fun and entertainment we'll be there with a little stall crammed with yummy cupcakes. Pop by and say hi if you're in the area - we'll be just outside Wandsworth Town train station.

Competition winner - September!

Hi all, and a very special hi to Darren, who we picked as the winner of this month's Name the Cupcake competition. Darren suggested the inspired Bearcelona Vs Dinosaur Kiev; a little on the lengthy side, but we felt it really hit the target.

Special thanks to everyone else who entered, most notably Paul (Match-chew-pitch-o), Chris (On Me Ted, son) and Emma (Teddy Sheringham v Ronal-dino) whose entries we also loved. One of my people will be in touch to hook you up with a little consolation prize.

Covent Garden Fashion Fete this Saturday

Hi all. Just a quick one to let you know that there's going to be a Fashion Fete in Covent Garden this coming Saturday. Amongst the attractions on offer will be a cupcake decorating competition with cupcakes, icing and sprinkles supplied by us, and we'll also be setting up a little stall so you can buy some of our cupcakes on the day too.

There's also going to be a tonne of other fun stuff to do including local fashion shop discounts, makeovers, a fashion tug of war (me neither), Celebrity fashion faux-pas plate smashing, doggy catwalks, model scouts from Models 1 and loads of other traditional British fête activities with a fashion-y twist.

The fun starts at 11am and runs through till 6pm on the East Piazza in Covent Garden - see y'all there!
